Why did I save this 1990's ad? Because for so many years I needed to remind myself that I am more than my size. I am more than numbers...the numbers on a scale...the number on the tag of my jeans...how many more inches my hair needs to grow...
Seeking approval and making myself small.
And statistics. They do lie. You can make a statistic lean any way you want to suit your purpose. That I have known for a long, long time.
In many ways, those days are behind me but there will always be a struggle in some way or another to remind myself that the only approval I need is mine.
